A melt-and-pour soap bar is a pre-made block of soap containing high levels of glycerin. Glycerin is the component of soap that softens the skin. It attracts moisture from the air, therefore you should not leave a glycerin soap bar sitting out, or it will take on a large amount of water and become soft over time. Melt-and-pour soap bars allow you to melt the glycerin yourself and customize your own color, fragrances and shapes. You can also leave them clear and unscented.
