The bow and arrow, one of the most ancient yet useful tools man has ever made, has been around for thousands of years. Its use for hunting was unprecedented, allowing a hunter to kill from a distance as opposed to having to sneak up on his prey and attempt taking it down at close range. This was also effective when fighting other tribes of men. A bow is a simple matching of various types of wood combined with string, sinew from animals, or as now different types of materials such as Kevlar and polyester materials.
Step 1
Slip the large loop on the bow string over one end of the bow. Slide the string end down the bow a bit.
Step 2
Seat the smaller looped side of the string into the grooves of the opposite limb of the bow.
Step 3
Put the larger pocket of the bow stringer over the limb with the string side with the smaller loop.
Step 4
Put the smaller pocket over the end of the limb with the string side with the larger loop.
Step 5
Put both feet firmly on the bow stringer. Pull the bow up with one hand. Use the other hand to slide the bowstring side with the larger loop towards the limb with the open groove slots.
Step 6
Relax the bow into a neutral state slowly.
Step 7
Remove your bow stringer.
