The Simmons Beautyrest line of mattresses is marketed to feature an innovative pocketed coil spring system, giving the innerspring mattress more of a memory foam feel because it contours to the body. Also, because the springs are separate, they keep each sleeper's movement separate and undetected.

Positive Features

According to Mattress-Advisor, the Beautyrest ultra firm gets positive reviews over traditional innerspring mattresses for its motion separation technology, its overall comfort and ability to conform to the body and its edge support that enables it to maintain its form across the surface of the mattress.

Negative Features

Long-term durability and overall comfort of the Simmons Beautyrest line, notes Sleep Like the Dead, does not appear to stand up to memory foam, water or air mattresses. In addition, customers find that the Beautyrest line is typically more expensive than its innerspring competitors while still having sagging issues and little to no firmness adjustability.

Types

The Beautyrest line features a variety of choices ranging from the most inexpensive classic model to the high-end Black line. Mattress-Advisor indicates the diversity of the line allows consumers to purchase at a variety of price points, with the differences being the kind of foam used, the amount of springs used and the level of edge support available.

Considerations

In general, the Simmons Beautyrest line does get consumer feedback that it is very firm and is sometimes described as ultra firm. According to Sleep Like the Dead, the pillow top models often get better reviews for their combination of firmness with comfort.
