Hearing aids amplify sounds, making them easier to hear, and they're powered by small batteries made of zinc, making them easy to maintain as well. But before hearing aid batteries run out of power, the device will make a beeping sound to alert you. In general, a hearing aid battery will need to be replaced every 10 to 14 days.
Step 1
Turn off your hearing aid and remove it from your ear.
Step 2
Open the battery door. Using your fingernail, swing the door open.
Step 3
Remove the old battery.
Step 4
Remove the tab from the "new" battery. This will activate it.
Step 5
Hold the battery with the "+" side up (the side that is all silver) between your forefinger and thumb.
Step 6
Place the new battery into the hearing aid's battery door. Do not attempt to place the battery directly inside of the hearing aid itself, as this will cause the battery to be improperly aligned.
Step 7
Close the battery door.
