Skateboarding games for a boy can improve individual skill levels as well as technical ability. Though some boys skate at a very high level, many boys are at beginner or intermediate skating levels. As a result, skateboard games tend to focus on improving your technique as well as creating a competitive skating environment for you and your friends.
Old School Skate Trick Game
The old school skate trick game is good for intermediate skaters who are looking to improve their retro skate moves. Grab a partner and line up at the end of the skate park with boards in hand. Take turns performing old school skate tricks off of a small ramp or stomp box. Accurately performed old school moves, such as "the impossible" and "no comply 180" award you one point. If your partner can successfully imitate your moves he gets a point as well. Perform as many tricks as you can before stopping. The winner of the game is the player with the most points.
Vert Skating Game
The vert skating game will directly improve your vertical skating abilities and tricks. Stand at the top corner of a vertical ramp and get ready to drop in. This game is for intermediate to advanced skaters, so get experience with a vertical ramp before trying this game. After dropping in, get momentum and try to catch big air off the lip of each side of the ramp. Have a family member or friend judge you on height, rotations, difficulty and variations. According to Talk Skateboarding, the larger the amount of air you get on a trick, the higher your score will be. The score should be tallied out of 100 points and the player with the highest score wins the game.
Pool Skating Game
This classic game requires an empty swimming pool and pays homage to the great skateboarders of the 1980s. While empty curved swimming pools are often hard to come by, many current skate parks have modified swimming pools designed specifically for skating. If you find one of these, challenge your friend to a trick-based pool skating game. Drop into the pool and perform as many tricks as you can in two minutes. Unlike a vert ramp, skating an empty pool forces you to rely on rotations and ground moves instead of big air and in-air rotations. Have your partner perform a different run in two minutes and have someone judge both runs. The winner will be the skater with the highest score.
