If you ever spend time staring at your cupboards wondering what in the world you'll eat for dinner, a weekly dinner menu might just be for you. Planning out your dinners for the week can help save you time and relieve stress. It will expedite your grocery shopping, allowing you to focus on the more important things in your life.
Step 1
Make a list of the days of the week on a sheet of paper or on the computer.
Step 2
Look at your event calendar and think of any events or activities that may interfere with dinner time and take them into consideration as you plan your meals for the week.
Step 3
Make a separate list of your favorite meals. Think of meals that are a combination of easy to make, inexpensive and great tasting. Put this list on your refrigerator or somewhere else where you can access it easily each week in order to make your dinner menu. Some of these meals can include eating out or getting take-in; they do not necessarily need to all be cooked meals.
Step 4
List one meal next to each day of the week on your menu paper. Be sure to write down all the sides that go with the meal and your beverage preference, such as soda or wine.
Step 5
Factor in your planned events for the week after you've made your menu, in case you need to make adjustments. For example, if you have a home-cooked meal on a night where an event comes up, swap out that meal for another one or substitute it for an easier one or a meal out at a restaurant instead.
Step 6
Put your meal calendar up in your kitchen or somewhere else where you can easily access it when it's time to make dinner or head to the grocery store.
