A diverse group of Beaumont, California residents belong to the Beaumont Optimist Club. The club's objective is bringing out the best they can in children. With that goal in mind, club members and residents show they recognize the importance of youth activities in Beaumont.

Geography

Beaumont, California is a relatively small community located in Riverside County in the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass. As of July 2009, the population was only 33,449 people. The warm weather and scenic surroundings are only part of the reason that Beaumont is an ideal environment for children.

Facts

Beaumont Unified School District schools typically provide either before- or after-school programs. Anna Hause Elementary School and Three Rings Ranch Elementary offer both after-school and before-school activities for youth. According to the district's published information, "The After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program provides free supervised activities until 6:00 PM for students..." In addition to education, literacy and enrichment programs, the children enjoy a variety of sports and games.

Time Frame

Many events and activities for young people in Beaumont California are based on seasonal events. Health-conscious individuals will find that Beaumont provides plenty of fun physical activities for youth. The four-day-long annual Cherry Festival, traditionally held in early June, provides all the exercise a body requires. Lots of walking, running and fresh air is involved. Annual events like the Lil Miss Beaumont Pageant and the Summer Concert Series are family events.

Types

Other types of seasonal youth activities include Summer Day Camp at the Beaumont Community Recreation Center. A fee of $15 per day is required for each child, although weekly family rates are also available. Children learn things like Hula Dancing, Gymnastics and Tai Chi.

Stewart Park is a year-round favorite of Beaumont youths. It is located in the heart of the downtown area and provides an outdoor pavilion for concerts, a baseball diamond and multiple basket ball courts. There is also a skateboard park and swimming pool for added enjoyment.

Other Events

Beaumont youths enjoy the obvious advantages that come from living in a moderate climate with lots of open space. They have the benefit of viewing and participating in fun and athletic activities that foster community awareness.

Among these activities is the "Breezin' Though Beaumont" 5k/10k race. Stewart Park typically hosts this annual event. The nearby Happy Trails Pony Party and Petting Zoo even offers horseback riding lessons.
