The HealthRider C550e and Pro-Form 500f elliptical trainers are, for all intents and purposes, the same machine. Both machines are produced by ICON Health & Fitness, and offer a better value that most ellipticals in the same price range.

The HealthRider C550e has a 275-lb. maximum user weight limit. It offers a fixed 16-inch stride length, although All Elliptical warns that it has a choppier, "up and down" stride than a high-end elliptical trainer.
Features
Features of note on the HealthRider C550e include a built-in cooling fan, backlit display, handgrip heart monitor, 10 pre-programmed workouts, moving handlebars slaved to the pedal resistance and digitallyadjusted resistance, which is rare in this price range.
Price
The HealthRider is labeled with a retail price of $800 as of August 2010, but selling fitness equipment at a constant, steep discount is standard practice in the industry. Both Treadmill Doctor and All Ellipticals class the C550e as an under-$500 elliptical trainer.
