Once known for its cross-country ski exercises, NordicTrack has since branched into providing other cardio equipment, including treadmills and elliptical trainers. The E5 joins the line of folding "SpaceSaver" ellipticals.
Specs
The E5 si has a fixed 18-inch stride length and a 275-lb. maximum user weight limit.
Resistance
The rear-drive E5 si uses silent magnetic resistance. Push a button and a cable mechanically adjusts a magnet closer to the flywheel, for more resistance, or further from the flywheel for less resistance.
Features
Features of note on the NordicTrack E5 si include a built-in cooling fan, an odometer, four pre-programmed workouts plus two heart rate control programs, an MP3 player-compatible music port with built-in speakers, iFit interactivity and a built-in handgrip heart rate monitor.
Price
The NordicTrack E5 si is retail priced at $1,000 as of summer 2010, but selling fitness equipment at a steep, constant markdown is common practice; it sells for $500 direct from the manufacturer.
