Recycle the coffee grounds after your morning cuppa, and treat yourself to an invigorating body scrub. The body scrub is similar to coffee scrubs used in expensive spas, minus the huge price tag. Combined with skin-friendly oatmeal, oil and sugar, a coffee scrub will improve your circulation and leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated as it sloughs away dead, dry skin cells, revealing healthy, glowing skin.
Step 1
Place 1/2 cup of warm, freshly brewed coffee grounds in a mixing bowl. Use unflavored, caffeinated coffee. Alternatively, use 1/2 cup fresh, unbrewed coffee.
Step 2
Place 2 tbsp. old-fashioned oats in a blender or coffee grinder and grind the coffee to a coarse powder. Add the ground oats to the coffee. Stir in 2 tbsp. olive oil or sweet almond oil, 2 tbsp. honey and 1 tbsp. brown sugar.
Step 3
Take a warm shower. Turn off the water and apply the coffee scrub to your wet skin with your fingers or a washcloth or loofah. Massage the scrub into your skin using a gentle, circular motion. Rinse the scrub from your skin with warm water.
Step 4
Store any unused scrub in the refrigerator and use within 48 hours.
