Billed as an entry-level version of the Q45 elliptical trainer, the Q35 by Octane Fitness lacks some of the distinctive features you might expect from an Octane elliptical, such as Powerbands and side platforms for doing off-elliptical strength training.
Specs
The front-drive Q35 has a fixed 20.5-inch stride length. The pedals are spaced 1.8 inches apart. It has 20 resistance levels and a 300-lb. maximum user weight limit.
Resistance
The Octane Q35 has eddy current resistance, which is considered the best type of elliptical resistance available. You control how much current flows to an electromagnet positioned near the elliptical's flywheel. The more current that flows to the magnet, the more resistance there is against your pedaling.
Price
As of August 2010, the Octane Q35 retails for $2,000. It comes with a lifetime frame warranty, a 5-year parts warranty and one year of labor coverage.
