Orion 15x70 Resolux Binoculars are rugged optical instruments used for wide-field stargazing. They have features that are comparable to a small telescope and also provide daytime viewing of long distances.
Features
The waterproof binoculars have a wide field of view with better resolution, brightness and contrast than many small telescopes. They have a 15x magnification which gives outstanding detail and a 70 millimeter lens aperture. They are nitrogen purged which prevents lens fogging. The individual eye pieces can be focused. The lenses have anti-reflection coating. The binoculars weigh 5 pounds, 8 ounces and can be mounted on a tripod.
Care
While the binoculars are waterproof, they should not be submerged in water. They can be cleaned with warm water and a cloth. To clean the lenses, use cleaning tissues and fluid designed for multicoated lenses. To prevent mold growth, store the binoculars in their case in a cool, dry place.
Price
The binoculars are sold at major retailers and the manufacturer's website. As of summer 2010, the binoculars cost about $369.95.
