You have looked all over for a way to lose weight without working out. Diets may help, but the second you come off the plan, you gain the weight right back. You cannot lose weight without some level of aerobic and anaerobic activity. However, you can lose weight without setting foot in a gym. Adopt healthy eating habits and get active in fun ways to lose weight.

Step 1

Eat foods in their natural form. Consume low-fat proteins such as lean beef, fish, chicken, soybeans and legumes to aid in muscle recovery and increase metabolism. Eat high-fiber foods like apples, berries, carrots, green beans, spinach, broccoli, asparagus and whole-grain pastas and breads to keep you feeling fuller longer. Include good fats in your nutrition plan, such as olive oil, seeds and nuts, to aid in essential vitamin absorption and keep your heart healthy, notes MayoClinic.com.

Step 2

Avoid processed foods. Stay away from food that has been manipulated before it gets to you. Processed foods are high in sodium, saturated fats and refined sugars, which encourage bloating and weight gain.

Step 3

Write down everything you eat. Monitor your calories on a daily basis using LIVESTRONG.com's MyPlate or a food journal. Subtract 500 to 750 calories per day from your diet to lose one to two pounds per week.

Step 4

Get creative with your food. Prepare foods using a variety of marinades and spices to keep meals interesting. Create healthier versions of some of your favorite foods; for example, make a pizza using a whole-wheat pita as a crust instead of white flour. Try Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Cookbook or visit CookingLight.com for healthy ideas.

Step 5

Join a local sports team, take long walks, ride bikes with your family or join a running club to increase your activity levels. Working out with a group is a way to meet individuals who share similar weight-loss goals and to increase your accountability. Search LIVESTRONG.com for a running club in your area.

Step 6

Stay active. You burn calories during fun activities like gardening or dancing. A 190-pound adult burns a whopping 431 calories while gardening. A 160-pound adult burns 219 calories during an hour of dancing.
