A clean nutritional plan is one of the most important parts of losing weight. Clean eating means consuming foods that have not been manipulated or processed. Natural foods have higher nutritional values to nourish the body than processed foods with very little nutrients. Eating natural foods will keep you fuller with fewer calories so you can lose weight in healthy way.

Step 1

Record your current meals. Track your eating habits and calories with tools such as LIVESTRONG's MyPlate or NutritionData.com. Subtract 500 calories daily to lose one to two pounds weekly.

Step 2

Consume five to six small meals per day. Eat every three to four hours to fire up your metabolism. You burn calories as your body digests foods, so you will burn more calories throughout the day.

Step 3

Eat fiber rich vegetables and fruits to keep you fuller longer and cut calories. Fruits and vegetables take longer to digest so you stay full and are less likely to overeat. Keep fresh vegetables and fruits prepared and ready in your kitchen so they are accessible, recommends MayoClinic.com. Consume 25 grams per day for adult women and 38 grams for men.

Step 4

Eat whole grains. Consume oatmeal, fiber rich cereals, whole grain pastas and breads which digest slower and are less likely to be stored as fat. Avoid refined grained foods, which cause weight gain and leave you feeling lethargic.

Step 5

Stay away from saturated fats and trans fats. Eat good fats such as flax seed oil, olive oil, nuts and seeds that improve heart health and aid in essential vitamin absorption. Consume in moderation, because fats are high in calories.

Step 6

Eat low fat proteins. Consume skinless poultry, lean beef, egg whites, low fat dairy, cold water fish, legumes and soybeans to nourish your muscles.
