If you're tired of plucking unwanted facial hair, or if your skin has had enough of messy and painful commercial waxes, opt for a gentle lemon facial wax that you can make in your kitchen. Your skin will be smooth and hairless, and as an added benefit, lemon facial wax will clean your pores and provide gentle, natural moisturizers that will leave your face feeling renewed and soft.

Step 1

Place 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 1/4 cup of honey in a saucepan. Place the saucepan on low heat, and then add 2 cups of white sugar.

Step 2

Heat the mixture slowly, stirring constantly until the sugar is melted and the mixture turns thick and brown. Remove the mixture from the burner and allow it to cool until it's comfortable to the touch.

Step 3

Apply a light layer of cornstarch to the area to be waxed. Smooth a thin, even layer of the warm lemon wax on the area you want to wax. Use a table knife or a wooden tongue depressor to apply the wax in the direction of hair growth.

Step 4

Cover the wax with a narrow strip of cotton fabric. Press the fabric lightly with your fingers. Allow the wax to cool slightly, and then quickly pull the cloth in the opposite direction of hair growth. Repeat as necessary, and then apply a gentle, alcohol-free toner to the waxed area to tighten the pores.
