InStep markets a line of strollers, particularly jogging strollers, geared toward parents who want to incorporate their children into their fitness routines. The Suburban Safari and Safari strollers are two models of strollers created with a budget friendly price tag for active and busy parents. These strollers can be taken for a jog in the park, or a stroll around the mall.
Features
Both the InStep Suburban Safari and the Safari feature three pneumatic wheels, and both have 12 inch front wheels that swivel making it easy to navigate indoors and through tight or crowded spaces. The Suburban Safari has an additional feature that allows the front wheel to lock, a bonus for parents who use the stroller while running or jogging. The Safari has slightly larger back wheels at 16 inches each, allowing for a smoother ride and easier pushing over various types of terrain. The Suburban Safari comes with a mesh bug screen for use outdoors, to keep children comfortable and bug free. The Safari accommodates parents of any height with an adjustable handle.
Weight
The InStep Suburban Safari and the Safari will both safely hold a child up to 50 pounds in their seats. The Suburban Safari stroller is slightly lighter than the Safari, at 28 and 29 pounds respectively, fully assembled without a child onboard.
Safety
Both strollers feature a five point safety harness to prevent the child from climbing or falling out and becoming injured. Each of the models also has a clip on tray on the front, although the harness system should be used for each time for safety. Both models feature foot brakes as well.
Price
As of August, 2010, the InStep Safari has a lower price tag, with a MSRP of $169.99, compared to the Suburban Safari with a MSRP of $199.99. Discounts may be offered through the manufacturer or through retailers from time to time decreasing the price.
Accessories
The Suburban Safari stroller has a car seat adapter that can be purchased separately to allow an infant car seat to snap into the stroller and act as a travel system. Rain guards and lambskin seat cushions can also be purchased separately to allow for a more comfortable ride in any type of weather.
