Fortunately for families staying in Las Vegas, some of the strip's most popular hotel casinos offer accommodations and entertainment for children as well as adults. Children under 12 often stay for free in these hotels, and childcare is usually available as well. While childcare facilities are usually fun and safe, parents should expect to provide immunization records for each child, and expect the maximum stay to be no more than about five hours.

Five-Star Hotels and Casinos

Five-star hotels and casinos offer many amenities for those traveling with children. The Palms Casino, for example, boasts a total of eight restaurants, an arcade, an over-sized pool, movie theaters, high-speed Internet and adjoining rooms for families. The childcare facility requires a five-hour maximum per child. In addition, children under 12 stay for free with an accompanying adult. While utilizing the on-site childcare facility, parents enjoy adults-only activities, including live music, comedy shows, cocktail bars and gaming. While casinos such as the Palms make an effort to provide kid-friendly services, these casino are often primarily geared toward adults-only entertainment.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Another popular casino, the Red Rock Casino offers three conveniently situated child-friendly facilities. Both the 16-screen movie theater and the arcade are walking distance to the casino's childcare center. Unlike other nearby casinos, this casino also offers a 72-lane bowling center and three swimming pools. In addition to 12 restaurants, picky eaters can dine in a kid-friendly food court. This particular childcare facility offers a reading nook, gym, kids' cafe and karaoke. Parents often opt for casinos that not only offer five-star amenities for the adults, but keep a child's experience in mind as well.

Mid-Level Hotel Casinos

Childcare at mid-level casinos is often an affordable way to stay while still providing children with an abundance of entertainment. The Orleans, for example, requires a one-hour minimum and a five-hour maximum stay. Potty trained children ages 3 through 12 are welcome to enjoy many activities, including a jungle gym, arcade, movie theater, snack bar and others. Parents are usually not permitted to leave the building while a child is in childcare; however, these casinos still offer many diverse amenities such as a sports arenas, bowling, fitness centers and spas.

Affordable Hotel Casinos

The Boulder Station Hotel and Casino is a good example of an affordable casino that welcomes children. The casino offers kid-friendly conveniences such as adjoining rooms, a food court, a movie theater and in-room pay-per-view movies. Childcare at Boulder Station allows children as young as six weeks and allows no more than a five-hour stay. Families may also find Boulder Station's pet policy useful when traveling with a family dog. For adults, the casino also offers four 24-hour bars and a wide variety of live music. These casinos, however, often offer amenities for children that one might find at any typical hotel.

Casinos with Family-Friendly Themes

The Sunset Station is a sister hotel and casino to the Boulder Station. Rather than country-western themed, however, the Sunset Boulder offers Spanish Mediterranean flair. The casino offers the same childcare facilities and kid-friendly amenities as the Boulder, including the policy that kids under 12 stay free. Adults enjoy the outdoor pool and four Latin inspired on-site restaurants. The hotel's Club Madrid offers frequently rotating live music.
