Some men do not get all of the essential nutrients they need from food. Instead, they may depend on supplements to help them increase their intake to achieve national recommendations and better health. Multivitamins are a convenient way to get a variety of nutrients from a single source. Natural multivitamins can be appealing because they do not have synthetic ingredients, and can be more absorbable and gentler on the stomach than other supplements.

Rainbow Light

Rainbow Light Certified Organics Men's Multivitamin advertises "enhanced energy, strength, and longevity." These natural capsules provide all the essential vitamins and many minerals, including over 1000 percent of the daily value for thiamin, riboflavin, and vitamin B12 for each serving size of four capsules. These supplements have organic whole food ingredients such as blueberry and broccoli extract and spirulina as antioxidant ingredients. These supplements also include blends for specific health benefits. The strength and energy blend has herbs like ginseng, saw palmetto, and cinnamon. Herbs for liver support include milk thistle and artichoke extract. The digestive support blend includes enzymes, bacteria, and inulin. These supplements are 100 percent natural and have no objectionable ingredients, according to Rainbow Light. The Food and Drug Administration has not examined the products or the health claims that the company makes regarding the supplement.

Phytovitamins

According to the Office of Dietary Supplements at the National Institutes of Health, men should avoid taking iron supplements to avoid risk of iron toxicity. Phytovitamin Multivitamin (Iron Free) veg capsules may be a good choice for men looking for an all natural supplement without synthetic vitamins. To improve absorption, the nutrients in these capsules are from whole foods such as spices, beans, and fruits. These vitamins also have various blends of whole foods such as the berry and the sea veggie whole food complexes. There is also the antioxidant whole food complex with turmeric and cranberries, the omega complex that includes flax, and the digest whole food blend that has ginger and celery. These supplements provide between one and eight percent of most of the essential vitamins and minerals for every capsule. The Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated these supplement claims.

ProCaps Laboratories

The Life Rx Multivitamin-Elite for Men supplements claim to have all essential vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, phytonutrients, and antioxidants. Each serving of these supplements is in a packet containing six capsules so that you can spread your intake throughout the day. Each serving has at least 100 percent of the daily value for all essential vitamins and many minerals, and provides over 1000 percent of vitamins C, B6, and B12. These supplements have 100 mg each of what ProCaps calls "vital ingredients." Coenzyme Q10 and alpha-lipoic acid are necessary antioxidants. Resveratrol, the beneficial compound in red wine, may protect cells against aging. Epigallocatechin Gallate, from green tea, enhances antioxidant and liver function. Pomegranate extract, the "sacred fruit," is a folk remedy. The Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated health claims and safety of these supplements.
