Summer Day Camps for Kids in Maryland

During the summer months, sending your child to summer camp is a rewarding way for her to learn new athletic skills while making new friends. There is a wide variety of summer camps from which to choose, including soccer and tennis camps, to keep kids entertained.

Aquatics Camp

At Camp Letts, along the shores of the South River, your children will spend their summer days filled with aquatic and land-based activities. This camp is designed to help your children make new friends and to learn new activities such as sailing. Days will be spent windsurfing, canoeing and playing on the camp's adventure course. The camp offers both overnight and day camp options. To attend Camp Letts, campers must be between 6 to 16.

Soccer Camp

The longest running day soccer camp in Montgomery County is the Montgomery Soccer Academy. This camp is available for boys ages 4 to 11 and girls ages 4 to 17. The aim of the camp is to teach children how to improve ball control and increase confidence. Children work in small groups. There is full-day and half-day camp option. The Montgomery Soccer Camp also offers a goalkeeper camp. Camps run for one-week sessions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tennis Camp

At the Adidas Tennis Camp, held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus, your child will spend a week playing tennis. This camp is designed to help improve tennis skills in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Campers learn from professional tennis coaches and are grouped with other campers according to skill. Your child will play at the University of Maryland's 10-court tennis complex. Children between the ages of 9 to 18 can attend the camp and players of all levels are welcome.

Sports Camp

ESF Camp or Education, Sports and Fun Camp is a summer day camp with multiple locations in Maryland including Bethesda and Baltimore. The camp is filled with fun-filled activities designed to spark your child's imagination and ignite their sense of adventure. There are several programs to choose from including baseball, softball, tennis, football and soccer. Camps are available for children as young as 3 years old. Camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an extended day option starting at 7:30 a.m. and running until 6:30 p.m.

Sailing School

At the Annapolis-based KidShip Sailing School, children will learn how to sail while out on Chesapeake Bay. This school is geared toward kids ages 5 to 15 years old. The children will have both on-land and on-water instruction. Class sizes are kept small to ensure personalized instruction. Most sessions are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp offers half-day, full-day and weekend lessons. The half-day and full-day sessions last for five days, Monday through Friday.
