When it comes to conception and pregnancy, every woman experiences different symptoms. Some deal with morning sickness throughout the day. Others feel few symptoms and maintain their regular activity levels until they go into labor. Most, however, have an experience that falls somewhere in between these two extremes, according to the American Pregnancy Association. Some early signs of baby conception include sore breasts and tiredness. These symptoms can indicate other health problems, however, so check with a doctor if you experience them.
Sore Breasts
Conception starts a great deal of change in hormone levels, which can affect the breasts and lead to soreness in that area of the body, according to Melissa Goist, MD, cited in an article with "Parents Magazine." This symptom typically lasts only a few weeks. Some natural remedies for breast soreness during early pregnancy recommended by the American Pregnancy Association include showering with warm water pointed directly on the breasts, wearing a bra while sleeping and being sure to wear a bra with good support during the day.
Fatigue
Early pregnancy often causes fatigue for two reasons, according to Goist. First, babies begin using up the calories you consume within two weeks of conception. In addition, a woman's body begins producing additional progesterone, which prepares the uterine lining for implantation, keeps the uterus at an appropriate thickness to efficiently hold the embryo and helps to create an environment rich in nutrients for the growing baby. Fatigue typically goes away during the second trimester and then returns during the third trimester.
Spotting
According to the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, spotting is a common early sign of pregnancy. Many women bleed when the fertilized egg becomes implanted into the lining of the uterus. Some women even mistake implantation spotting for their period. While spotting is typically nothing to be concerned about, you should speak with your doctor to ensure that it does not indicate a serious health problem.
