Constructing a homemade skateboard ramp costs much less than purchasing an already assembled skateboarding ramp. A skateboard ramp that is homemade allows the inexperienced skateboarder to learn the basics of ramp skating in a private setting as opposed to the public setting of a local skateboard park. Many homemade skateboard ramps have a design that does not require power tools which allows younger skateboarders to complete the construction process themselves. Skaters can store the portable components of the homemade skateboard ramp after a skate session.
Step 1
Place one of the cinder blocks lengthwise on the ground. Apply the construction grade adhesive to the flat surface on top of the cinder block. Place a cinder block lengthwise on top of the first cinder block and press it against the adhesive.
Step 2
Apply the adhesive to the top of the second cinder block. Place a cinder block lengthwise on top of the second cinder block and press it against the adhesive. Allow the adhesive to dry on the stack of three cinder blocks. Create another stack of lengthwise cinder blocks identical to the first stack of three.
Step 3
Allow the adhesive to dry on the second stack of three cinder blocks. Place the second stack of cinder blocks parallel to the first set while leaving 4 feet between the two stacks. Rest the 4 foot long edge of the plywood against the two parallel stacks of cinder blocks.
Step 4
Move the remaining two cinder blocks under the plywood to create a foundation for the inclined face of the homemade skateboard ramp.
Step 5
Place the rectangular shaped sheet metal lengthwise at the bottom of the plywood ramp. Attach the piece of sheet metal to the plywood by applying the duct tape along the outer edge of the metal.
Step 6
Walk up and down the homemade skateboard ramp to ensure that it holds your weight.
