The Garmin eTrex is a rugged handheld GPS unit for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurists. You can use it to point you toward your destination or navigate back to your starting point.

Features

Built for the outdoors, the eTrex is waterproof and easy to locate in its bright yellow casing. The eTrex is easily operated with one hand, and simple to use with only five buttons. There are no street or terrain maps programmed on the unit, but you can store up to 500 points of interest. A Garmin TrackBack feature keeps track of your route and reverses the data to lead you back to your starting point.

Specifications

Two AA batteries lasts for up to 22 hours of use in the Garmin eTrex. The small unit measures four inches high by two inches wide. The one inch by two inch grayscale LCD display has a pixel resolution of 64 by 128.

Cost

Garmin has discontinued the eTrex model, but new and used units can be purchased from Amazon.com. As of August 2010, a used eTrex GPS retails for about $79.99. New units are offered from $129.95 to $279.99.
