While wrinkles are generally considered to be a natural, harmless part of aging, they can be upsetting and unsightly for some people. However, there are some natural remedies that can be made using simple ingredients that you may already have at home. These remedies have not been approved by the FDA however, so consult your doctor before starting treatment if you have any concerns.
Vodka and Fennel Essential Oil Toner
According to Julie Gabriel, author of "The Green Beauty Guide: Your Essential Resource to Organic and Natural Skin Care, Hair Care, Makeup, and Fragrances," a mixture of vodka and fennel essential oil can be used in a small amounts as a wrinkle reducing toner. To make and use this mixture, combine 4 tsp. vodka, ½ tsp. fennel essential oil and 8 tsp. distilled water in a small bottle and shake or stir to combine. Spray or dab the mixture onto the wrinkled area and leave it on for 30 minutes before gently rinsing with cool water. There is no need to wash with soap unless the mixture irritates your skin. Vodka and fennel skin toner can be stored in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator for 30 days.
Olive Oil, Honey and Fresh Aloe Vera Gel
According to Jethro Kloss, author of "Back to Eden: Classic Guide to Herbal Medicine, Natural Food and Home Remedies Since 1939," a mixture of olive oil, honey and fresh aloe vera gel can be applied to the skin to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. To make this mixture, combine 1 tsp. olive oil, 1 tsp. honey and 2 tsp. fresh aloe vera gel in a small bowl or container and stir to combine. Gently massage a small amount of the mixture onto the skin and leave it on for 1 hour or until completely dry. Rinse your skin with lukewarm water and wash with a very gentle cleanser. This treatment can be used once per day, and unused portions of the mixture can be kept in the refrigerator for up to five days.
Pineapple Essential Oil, Rose Essential Oil and Jojoba Oil
According to Colleen Kaye Dodt, author of "The Essential Oils Book: Creating Personal Blends for Mind & Body," a mixture of pineapple essential oil, rose essential oil and jojoba oil can be used as a topical treatment to fight wrinkles. To make this mixture, combine 1 tsp. pineapple essential oil, ½ tsp. rose essential oil and 8 tsp. jojoba oil in a small bottle and shake to combine. Massage a very small amount of the mixture onto the affected area and leave it on for 40 to 45 minutes before rinsing with cool water. There is no need to wash with soap unless the mixture causes irritation or redness. Unused portions of this mixture can be stored in a cool, dark and dry place for up to two months for later use.
