Pimples arise when pores become clogged with dead skin cells, dirt and sebum, your skin's natural oil. Popular home remedies include spreading tomato pulp on your face and using lemon or lime juice as a toner. One home remedy recommended by beauty experts is a paste made of aspirin and honey. Aspirin contains salicylates, like commercial acne remedies formulated with salicylic acid. Combined with the antibacterial and antiseptic properties of honey, aspirin provides a cost-effective alternative to over-the-counter acne medications.

Step 1

Crush three aspirin tablets with the back of a spoon. You may wish to use aspirin formulated for migraines, which contains caffeine and may help draw toxins from the skin.

Step 2

Put the crushed aspirin in a bowl.

Step 3

Add 1/2 spoonful of water and 1/2 spoonful of honey. Use the spoon to mash the mixture into a thick paste.

Step 4

Apply the paste directly to the pimple and allow it to work for 15 minutes.

Step 5

Wash your face with mild soap and warm water and dry with a clean towel. Repeat the treatment twice a day until the pimple is gone.

Things You'll Need

  • 3 uncoated aspirin tablets or one packet aspirin powder
  • Honey
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
