While there is no safe, magic formula for fast weight loss, there are many things you can do to drop pounds quickly and stay healthy. To see fast weight-loss results, stay hydrated, detox, watch your diet and engage in an appropriate exercise program. With the right motivation and dedication, weight loss can be achieved quickly.
Step 1
Drink water. For anyone to lose weight fast, water should be at the top of their weight-loss plan. Water is important for digestion, absorption of nutrients and waste elimination. Water can also help curb hunger, fight fatigue and increase energy levels.
Step 2
Detox yourself. According to Natalia Rose, author of "The Raw Food Detox Diet," eat a diet of simple, quick exit foods. These foods will allow the body to release its stored fat and cleanse itself. Rose also suggest a diet full of fruits, vegetables and green teas. Start the day with green drinks, consume a raw lunch and eat steamed vegetables with a tossed salad at dinner. These simple methods will help cleanse the stored fat from your body.
Step 3
Reduce your daily calories. According to Mackie Shilstone, author of the "Fat Burning Bible," never cut your caloric intake below 1,200 calories per day. Drastically cutting calories can cause your body to go into starvation mode, which makes it more difficult to burn calories. A reduction of 500 calories a day commonly is suitable for weight loss. A registered dietitian or certified personal trainer can help determine a suitable number of calories for your body.
Step 4
Combine resistance training and cardiovascular exercise to burn 500 to 1,000 calories a day. Perform five resistance-training workouts a week for 30 to 60 minutes, five days a week. Follow this with 30 to 60 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. Try a cardiovascular exercise you enjoy, such as running, jogging, swimming, dancing, aerobics, exercise DVDs or cycling.
Tips and Warnings
- Reward yourself as you make progress. This will keep you motivated to continue with your weight-loss plans. Something as simple as a bubble bath or a new pair of sneakers can provide an added boost of motivation.
