Oil cleansing with a gentle oil like sweet almond oil is one alternative to traditional facial cleansers. It can effectively remove dirt, grime, makeup and impurities from your face, just like a traditional cold cream, reports TheBeautyBrains.com. If you have dry skin, using oil can add essential moisture to your delicate facial skin. Surprisingly, this cleansing method can also be an excellent choice for oily skin, as it may discourage the production of excess oil.

Step 1

Combine castor oil and sweet almond oil to create a custom oil blend for your skin. Use more castor oil for oily skin or less if your skin is dry. Try 80 percent sweet almond oil and 20 percent castor oil for normal skin.

Step 2

Pour the oil mixture into a clean flip-top bottle. Use a flip-top bottle to eliminate the risk of bacterial contamination and make your oil cleansing routine more convenient.

Step 3

Massage a generous amount of the almond oil blend into the face and neck. Take the time to work the oil deeply into your pores, particularly in areas prone to acne, suggests TheOilCleansingMethod.com.

Step 4

Soak a soft washcloth in steaming hot water. Wring out excess water, then cover your face with the cloth. Leave in place until it cools. Repeat until all traces of oil are removed from the skin.

Step 5

Rinse the face one final time with cool water. Rub a drop or two of sweet almond oil into your face if the skin feels dry or tight.

Things You'll Need
