NordicTrack Elliptical CX1600 Review

The Treadmill Doctor website identifies the NordicTrack CX 1600, a clone of the Elite 1300, as a "beefy, durable elliptical." The CX 1600 originally had a MSRP of $1,399, but NordicTrack has since discontinued the model. You might be able to find closeout, refurbished or secondhand models at a lower price.

Resistance

The NordicTrack CX 1600 has 12 levels of the trademarked Silent Magnetic Resistance that almost all products made by ICON Health & Fitness, NordicTrack's parent company, share. You adjust resistance with one-touch console controls, instead of pushing a Resistance Up or Resistance Down button repeatedly to scroll through resistance levels.

Specs

The CX 1600 has a fixed 20-inch stride length. Its maximum user weight limit is 350 lbs.

Features

Features of note on the CX 1600 include oversized, self-leveling pedals, a handgrip heart-rate sensor and a step counter that lets you translate your time on the elliptical into a pedometer count. The CX 1600 also has nine preprogrammed personal trainer workouts, three heart-rate control workouts and three customizable workouts, all of which adjust the elliptical's resistance automatically.
