Whether you're new to exercise or have been doing the same routine for a while, a 90-day workout program offers a quick change in a package that takes the responsibility of planning out exercises off your shoulders. These programs are designed by professionals to maximize your workouts and keep you from getting bored.

P90x

P90x is a follow-up to the Power 90 workout program. Both are designed by fitness expert Tony Horton. The guiding principle of P90x is to constantly change the workouts so that your muscles never get used to anything to the point that they become stagnant. Horton calls this "muscle confusion." There are 12 different types of workouts in the P90x program, including cardio, yoga and even Kenpo. P90x is intended to help you tone muscle and shed fat. P90x costs three payments of $39.95, for a total of $119.85, as of August, 2010.

RevAbs

RevAbs was created by celebrity trainer Brett Hoebel. The principle behind the program is what Hoebel calls "Abcentrics," a breathing technique that he claims will increase the abdominal work during exercise. RevAbs combines six different types of abdominal movements--including four types of flexion, twist and extension--with cardio for fat burning. The movements in RevAbs are based around martial arts and dance styles including capoeira and kickboxing. RevAbs is intended to help you achieve a "six-pack." It costs $79.90 as of August, 2010.

ACE Kick Start Workout

The Kick Start Workout is designed by the American Council on Exercise. It consists of three phases, each of which last four weeks, for a total of 90 days. The first two phases are entitled "Stability & Mobility Exercise Program with Aerobic Base Conditioning," while the third phase is called "Resistance Training with Aerobic Efficiency Conditioning." Phase I consists of bodyweight exercises such as the plank and the bird dog, as well as light cardio. Phase II consists of bodyweight exercises, some weighted exercises and increased cardio. Phase III consists of more advanced bodyweight exercises, more weighted exercises and cardio which alternates walking and jogging. The ACE Kick Start Workout is available for free through ACE's website.
