A trampoline provides hours of entertainment and physical activity for children and adults alike. Games such as Crack the Egg, Dodgeball and Attack the Castle further the entertainment value and keep children occupied with fun, active play. Before participating or encouraging such games, however, make sure your trampoline can handle the added stress of these games.
Crack the Egg
Crack the Egg, as described on the Families.com website, requires one player to act as the egg and the other players to try to crack the egg. The player designated as the egg sits with her legs pulled up toward her chest and arms wrapped around her legs to help keep her legs tightly against her chest. The rest of the players then jump onto the trampoline and continue to jump in an effort to break the egg. The egg breaks when the egg player lets go of her legs. Use caution when jumping near the egg so the egg does not accidentally get jumped on.
Trampoline Dodgeball
Trampoline dodgeball, as explained on the TrampolineSpot.com website, does not follow the rules of traditional dodgeball. Rather than throwing the ball at each other, one player tosses a bouncy plastic ball onto the center of the trampoline. All players then jump onto the trampoline, causing the ball to bounce more, and trying to avoid getting hit by the ball as it bounces. Anyone who gets hit by the bouncing ball is out. The last player remaining wins.
Attack the Castle
Divide the players into two teams with one team on the trampoline, which is the castle, and the other team in the yard around the trampoline in this game outlined on the KiddieGardens.com website. Place as many balls as you can find in the yard around the trampoline and at the word "Go!" the players in the yard begin to pick up the balls and throw them onto the trampoline as quickly as possible. The team on the trampoline tries to get the balls off the trampoline and back into the yard as quickly as possible. The castle loses when all the balls are on the trampoline and wins when no balls are on the trampoline.
