When treating hair loss, many people use two or more treatment options simultaneously. A topical treatment, such as Rogaine, is often taken with an oral treatment, such as Propecia or saw palmetto. Rogaine foam is the latest version of Rogaine and dries faster with less irritation than liquid Rogaine. Saw palmetto extract is the most popular natural hair loss treatment even though its effectiveness in treating hair loss has not been firmly established. It is important to use the saw palmetto extract and not saw palmetto berry, as roughly 1,500 mg of the berry would need to be taken.
