The Wal-Mart Ab Roller helps you perform ab crunches with the correct form while cushioning and cradling the head and neck. Some Ab Roller kits come equipped with Pro Assist, which is a spring built into the machine to make the crunch movement easier to perform. The Pro Assist spring does not come with every Wal-Mart Ab Roller, and may be removed by more advanced exercisers. The Ab Roller is sold unassembled, so you must put the machine together before you may begin working out.
Step 1
Separate the pieces to ensure that all are present. You should have two rounded side bars, a long C-shaped overhead support bar, a short C-shaped lower bar, one head pad, two long screws, nine short screws and an Allen wrench. If Pro Assist is included, one spring, nylon case and protective cap are also present. All materials needed for assembly are included in the package.
Step 2
Attach one end of each of the two side bars to each end of the overhead support bar with four short screws. Make sure the screw heads face upward when the unit is placed onto the floor. Use the included Allen wrench to tighten both screws.
Step 3
Screw the head pad into the lower support bar using two long screws and tighten with the Allen wrench.
Step 4
Attach the other end of each of the two side bars to each end of the lower support bar with four short screws. The screw heads should again be facing upward when the unit is placed onto the floor.
Step 5
Slide the nylon cover over the Pro Assist spring, and secure the cover by placing the protective cap over one end of the spring.
Step 6
Attach the spring to the headrest with one short screw. Push the short screw through the open end of the spring and tighten.
