The discontinued rear-drive Smooth Fitness CE 2.0 elliptical trainer was a compact, entry-level model. The CE 2.0 originally retailed for $1,500, but you may be able to find secondhand or refurbished models for significantly less.
Specs
The Smooth CE 2.0 has a fixed 16-inch stride, 16 levels of magnetic resistance and a 300 lb. maximum user weight limit. Its pedals adjust to three different widths, and the handlebars have four length adjustments to accommodate users of varying size.
Features
Features of note include a handgrip heart-rate monitor and 12 workout programs that automatically adjust the resistance for you. The CE 2.0 also estimates your body fat percentage and calculates your BMI, or body mass index, a rough-and-ready way of estimated body fatness.
Warranty
If purchased new from the manufacturer, the CE 2.0 came with a lifetime frame and brake system warranty, plus two years of coverage for parts and electronics and one year of labor coverage. If you're purchasing a secondhand model, the warranty does not transfer.
