Nutrisystem provides consumers with pre-packaged, correctly proportioned meal items. The Nutrisystem program features breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snack items. After becoming a member of the Nutrisystem program, you can also access an online weight-loss tracking program and chat with other members.

Function

Once you register with Nutrisystem and choose a menu plan option you will receive 28 days worth of frozen and dry packaged food delivered to your home. Nutrisystem users may also use fresh vegetables, fruits and dairy products to complement meal options or serve as snacks.

Plan Options

Nutrisystem offers customized meal and food item selections for people with special dietary or medical requirements. Specialized diet plans include meal options for seniors, vegetarians and diabetics.

Meal Options

Examples of meal options available from Nutrisystem include cinnamon buns, black bean tortilla soup, cheese tortellini, vegetable fajitas and BBQ pork wraps. Examples of snack and dessert options you can eat on the Nutrisystem plan include peanut butter cookies, BBQ flavored soy chips, almond biscotti and pretzels.

Cost

As of August 2010, the cost of the Nutrisystem women's program ranged from $259.95 to $368.94, depending on the option selected. The Nutrisystem men's program ranged in cost from $289.95 to $398.94, as of August 2010.
