Open the cabinet doors, switch on the overhead track lights and you're ready for a game of darts. If you already have the dartboard you might consider mounting it in a cabinet that has enough area on the back wall to allow some space between the board and the inside edges of the cabinet. This way, an errant toss is less likely to stick in the cabinet frame or one of the doors. However, if you have a particular cabinet in mind, hanging the dartboard is the next step.

Step 1

Measure 5-feet, 8-inches up from the floor and hold one end of the level at this height next to the tape measure. Hold the other end of the level inside the cabinet against the back wall or back panel. Adjust the level so the horizontal bubble is dead center and mark this point on the wall. Set the level aside.

Step 2

Locate the center between the inside edges of the cabinet at the back wall and mark the point where this intersects with the level mark. This point will be the center of the dartboard. Hold the mounting bracket on the back wall so the bottom of the slot rest is on the center point mark. Attach the bracket at this location with wood screws.

Step 3

Start the flat head screw into the center point on the back of the dartboard. Leave the end of the screw exposed about 1/2-inch so it will slide into the slot rest. Place four rubber bumpers on the back of the board in a square configuration near the extreme outside edges. Attach the bumpers with a small brad in the center of each.

Step 4

Align the flat head screw with the slot rest and hang the board in the bracket. Push on the edges of the board and check for a snug fit against the wall. You can adjust the fit by loosening or tightening the flat head screw. Make sure the 20 is at the top.

Step 5

Draw the tape measure on a horizontal line from the face of the dartboard and hang a plumb bob at 7-feet, 9-and-1/4 inches. Mark the point of the bob on the floor. Peel the backing from the throw line tape and adhere the tape to the floor at this mark.
