Apple cider vinegar is fruity, tangy and has a less harsh taste than white vinegar. The Bragg brand of apple cider vinegar, unlike many other brands, is unpasteurized, organic and unfiltered. Bragg apple cider vinegar makes a flavorful addition to many foods and recipes and is a versatile natural cleaning agent.

Deodorizer

Use apple cider vinegar in place of white vinegar to get rid of drain smells. Pour one cup down the drain, let it sit for 30 minutes and rinse. Or place one cup of apple cider vinegar in a glass and leave it in the refrigerator for two days to deodorize the fridge.

Cooking

Incorporate apple cider vinegar into a marinade for meats or vegetables, or substitute it for white vinegar or wine vinegar in any recipe for a taste variation. If you're out of lemon juice, and are using a recipe where the lemon is used for acidity rather than flavor, you can use apple cider vinegar instead.

Salad Dressing

You can make many healthy and flavorful salad dressings with Bragg apple cider vinegar. The Bragg website includes several recipes, including one for a French salad dressing. To make this dressing, combine 2/3 cup olive oil, 3 tbsp. apple cider vinegar and a pinch of a French herb mix. Then add 2/3 cup honey and mix vigorously. You may substitute apple cider vinegar in most recipes calling for white vinegar.

Fruit Fly Trap

Pour 1/2 cup Bragg apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup water and 10 drops of dish soap into a bowl or cup. You can make it harder for the fruit flies to escape by taping a paper funnel into a cup. Clean up any produce that is attracting fruit flies to minimize recurrences of the problem.

Gold Jewelry Cleaner

You can soak gold jewelry in one cup of apple cider vinegar for 15 minutes to clean it. Remove it and wipe it clean with a cloth.
