Review: EMS Solstice Mummy Sleeping Bag

The Solstice from Eastern Mountain Sports, EMS for short, is a mummy-style sleeping bag available in three sizes. You can choose from a junior, bag or long for your sleeping bag. Each option is designed to withstand below-freezing temperatures.

Features

The EMS Solstice sleeping bag is made with a nylon ripstop fabric and filled with Omniloft synthetic insulation. It features a three-quarter-length, two-way zipper, hood cinches, and loops to hang up and air out your bag. The junior and regular sizes are available in right-hand zip, while the long size features left-hand zip.

Temperature Rating

EMS Solstice sleeping bags come with a general temperature rating of 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The three-season bag is able to be used in temperatures as low as 10 degrees, but to ensure comfort it is not recommended to use the bag in temperatures below the 20- to 35-degree range.

Cost

As of August 2010, the Solstice sleeping bag ranged in price from $55 to $71. The junior bag cost $55, the regular bag cost $63 and the long bag cost $71.
