According to PubMed Health, nonprescription Naprosyn may be taken with food or milk to prevent nausea. Patients taking prescription formulations should follow the written directions precisely. Those who experience severe or persistent diarrhea may be at risk for developing dehydration and should consult their physicians.

Skin Rash or Itching

Users should wear sun block and protective clothing if they experience a rash from taking Naprosyn. An over-the-counter medicated skin cream that contains cortisone, or a colloidal oatmeal bath may be helpful for relieving mild skin rash and itching.

Insomnia

Insomnia may occur in patients taking Naprosyn. They may have difficulty falling or remaining asleep throughout the night. This side effect may subside over time as the body adjusts to treatment with Naprosyn.
