A safety harness around the perimeter of your trampoline lends an extra bit of security during use. The likelihood of injury decreases greatly when a net protects trampoline users from falling. You should not climb up or jump from these harnesses; they are built only to protect users in case of a potential fall. Once you make this clear to all who use the trampoline, the installation process is itself very simple and straightforward.

Step 1

Clamp the enclosure poles to the base of the trampoline. These poles usually come in halves, and they usually attach easily to the legs. The bottom of the enclosure pole should be approximately 18 inches beneath your trampoline frame.

Step 2

Fasten the top halves of the poles. Slide the foam over the enclosure poles where they come to rest at the top of the trampoline frame.

Step 3

Clasp the caps in your harness set on top of the poles; these hold the net. You can attach the net after the poles are steadily attached with the foam sleeves and caps.

Step 4

Begin putting on the net. Stretch one end of the net to the other and tie the tops of each. The first two poles you work on will be the entrance to your trampoline.

Step 5

Go around the trampoline perimeter and tie the nets to all the poles. The first pole will have netting around the outside, but the rest of the net will be on the trampoline interior. The net should hang about two feet above the trampoline.

Step 6

Pull down the net and secure it on top of the frame.

Tips and Warnings

  • Before you set up your safety harness, make sure that no pieces are missing from your kit. Try to find at least one or two helpers for the installation process.
  • The harness is used only to protect users from falling. Do not use the net for climbing because this could result in bodily injury.
