Alys Beach is a young beach town community along the Gulf Coast of Florida's panhandle. With sustainable homes and a charming small-town atmosphere, Alys Beach is designed to facilitate an interactive community lifestyle that also promotes health and fitness. Whether you are planning to get away for a vacation or looking for new place to settle, Alys Beach offers many outdoor activities and a tranquil beach living.

Beach

Feel the fine quartz sand between your toes as you jog or walk along the shores of Alys Beach. The beach area remains untouched by developers, suitable for a quiet family picnic or spending a few hours with your favorite book. The beach is bare and without recreational amenities, so bring your own such as a football or frisbee.

Swimming

Aside from swimming in the Gulf Coast waters bordering Alys Beach, snorkel along the shoreline. While there aren't any nearby coral reefs, you may still spot some smaller fish species in the warmer waters. Alys Beach's main aquatic attraction is Caliza Pool. Caliza Pool includes an infinity-edge saltwater pool, family pool and lap pool, as well as a spa whirlpool. Inspired by Greek and Roman architecture, the facility also features outdoor living areas and casual poolside dining.

Celebrate Nature

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes as you trek along Alys Beach's nature trail. The boardwalk trail stretches along a 1,800-foot winding path through a 20-acre wetland area and longleaf pine forest, which houses a variety of Florida's wildlife and plant species. From the trail, bird watch, take nature photography and observe nature's residents in their natural habitats.

Kayaking and Canoeing

Kayaking and canoeing are popular Florida activities, and Alys Beach provides waters for paddlers of all skill levels. In addition to launching your vessel from the shore to paddle through the ocean, several coastal dune lakes surround the sand dunes along the coast, where you may see some of Florida's wildlife up close and personal.

Athletics

The layout of Alys Beach was designed to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle by maintaining a town center with all amenities within biking, jogging or walking distance. Aside from swimming, jogging along the shore or biking around town, hit the courts and strive for a 40-love match point in a game of tennis at the Clermont Tennis Center. As of August 2010, plans are also underway to add a weight room at the Alys Beach Community Center.
