Fitness classes, dancing classes, brunches and day trips are a few of the ways they can keep active, have fun and meet new people. The Hampton Sheriff's Department engages in supportive activities with local seniors as part of its community relations initiatives.

Clubs at the Hampton Senior Center

The Timeless Fashions is a club that meets once a month at the center, offering members beauty care, general self-improvement information and professional modeling techniques.

The Lunch Bunch meets once a month at various eateries in town to enjoy a meal and good conversation.

Staying Active

The Hampton Senior's Center also offers many fitness options, including line dancing and square dancing classes, where you can learn the basic moves, get exercise and have fun. Low-impact activities include "seniorcise," which is a gentle, seated exercise program, and Walk Away the Pounds, a total body workout walking 1 to 4 miles. For more intense cardio exercise, try the Power Angels 4-mile walking class.

Day and Overnight Trips

Check with the Hampton Seniors Center about its schedule of trips, which range from local arts and culture outings to taking in plays and visiting museums. Some of the trips visit neighboring towns, states and even other countries.

Seniors Picnic

Every May, the Hampton Sheriff's Department organizes a highly anticipated picnic for 300 seniors in the area. There's live music, free food and a performance by the Hampton Seniors Center line dancing group.

Evening activity

The bowling alley is the hot spot for seniors on Monday nights. Seniors can enjoy non-league games in a non-smoking environment.
