Dolly Parton's hometown, Sevierville, is home to around 11,000 residents. Visitors will find activities like horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hiking, biking, theater and golfing to be plentiful due to the town's close proximity to the Smoky Mountains, Dollywood and Ripley's Aquarium. Sevierville is also the location of the biggest scrapbooking store in the United States. Those looking for RV accommodation will find a diverse range to suit the needs of every kind of camper.

Geography and Climate

Sevierville is located at the base of America's most visited national park, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With over 800 miles of trails, there are endless opportunities for camping, fishing, picnicking and hiking. Sevierville is also close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The weather changes quickly and visitors are encouraged to wear or bring several layers of clothing, as well as ponchos or umbrellas, when planning on being outdoors for several hours.

Luxury Camping

The Two Rivers Landing RV Resort is a luxury campground on the French Broad River, with 25 riverfront sites and 30 river view sites. In the clubhouse, guests will find an exercise room containing several new pieces of equipment, as well as a flat screen TV. Two Rivers Landing provides free wireless Internet and cable TV services to all guests, and maintains a swimming pool, playground, gazebo and bath house.

Christian Camping

The Riverside Campground and RV Resort is open all year and offers church services every Sunday at its facility. Riverside has 316 hook-up sites with either 30- or 50-amp electricity. Each site has a concrete patio area. Riverside provides Internet and cable TV to guests free of charge, and offers mobile home and cabin rentals. There is a camp store on the premises, as well as LP gas for refueling.

Big Rig Camping

The River Plantation RV Park was named to Ken and Ellie Hamill's "Big Rig Best Bets," a website featuring campgrounds across the United States that accommodate big rigs. River Plantation maintains over 400 sites, the smallest of which is a 40-by-60-foot site and the biggest 40-by-70-foot. Designed with the needs of large groups in mind, the park's Conference Center offers catering and has dinner seating for up to 450 people and up to 750 people theater-style.

Full Service Camping

Ripplin' Waters Campground and Cabin Rentals has 156 sites, all with full-service hookups. In addition to RVs, conversion vans are also welcome at the campground. A camp store on the grounds offers supplies, LP gas and ice. Other amenities include a laundry room, swimming pool, bath houses and public telephones. Cabin rentals are available and include a full kitchen and bath, screened-in porch, air conditioning and sleeping accommodations for up to four people.
