According to Science Daily, "Our skin can benefit from the same nutrition we get from foods that have a positive effect on our heart and other major organs." To have skin that glows from the inside out, follow a healthy balanced diet. Be sure to include vitamins and minerals in your diet. They help protect your skin and reduce the damage from being exposed to the sun. In addition to your diet, make sure to get an adequate amount of sleep, and you'll have eventually have glowing skin.

Water

The recommended daily intake of water is eight 8 oz. glasses a day. This doesn't mean you have to chug water all day. Water is found in foods.

Add lemon or lime to your water if the thought of drinking plain water is not appealing to you. Try to consume water instead of soda to keep you hydrated and rid your body of toxins. Your skin will appear more moisturized when you are adequately hydrated. Your skin turgor or elasticity will also improve, making you look fresh faced.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps reduce premature aging and is an essential component to help give you glowing skin. It also helps with collagen formation, which gives your skin a younger appearance and decreases visible wrinkles. Vitamin C can be found in many foods, such as blueberries, oranges, sweet potatoes, oranges, and even green tea. Incorporate these into your daily diet.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 fatty acids prevent dry skin. According to Healthy Skincare, "These fatty acids improve the skin by decreasing the occurrence of clogged pores, reducing the body's production of inflammation agents that can lead to skin damage, reducing skin dryness, and skin dryness related problems, such as eczema, and improving skin's elasticity." These fatty acids can be found in salmon, albacore tuna, and even in avocados. Your body can not make omega-3 fatty acids on its own, so its important to add them to your diet.
