Truckers often spend long hours behind the wheel, so it is beneficial to get out of the truck and see the country. Truckers who make stop in Cincinnati have plenty to walk around and see. Depending on the season, Cincinnati offers festivals, outdoor activities, horse racing, steamboat rides and parks for truck drivers (and everyone else) you to enjoy. Taking time to explore Cincinnati can provide exercise, entertainment and relaxation.

Check Out the City's History

Cincinnati has a rich history dating back to the 18th century. The city is often referred to as the "Queen City." Cincinnati has architecture that is primarily created by the city's 19th-century European immigrants. Getting out and walking around downtown Cincinnati is a way to see the city's landscape. If you would like a chauffeur, horse and carriage rides are a way to effortlessly explore the downtown areas of the city. There are local businesses that offer horse and carriage rides.

Steamboats

Cincinnati is surrounded by the Ohio River, so a steamboat ride is a way to explore the Cincinnati riverfront. If you like the idea of taking in some sites while eating, you can arrange a steamboat ride that includes lunch or dinner. You can also arrange half-day steamboat tours. Traveling aboard a steamboat is a way to see the city from the river, as well as learn about Cincinnati.

Outdoor Recreation

If you enjoy playing golf, there are several public golf courses in and around Cincinnati. You can also bike along the Little Miami River on more than 70 miles of paved bike way. The bikeway is free to the public and is open daily all year. During the warmer months, a canoe ride down the Little Miami River is a way to keep cool. There are companies offering canoe and kayak rentals.

Entertainment

If you take a break from driving, Cincinnati offers a variety of parks for your entertainment and educational enjoyment. Regardless if you are a thrill-seeker, a water slide enthusiast, or a nature lover, Cincinnati has a park for you to enjoy. Cincinnati has water parks, amusement parks, botanical gardens, and the Cincinnati Zoo. Depending on the season, the parks may either close or implement activities to reflect the seasonal change in weather. These parks charge a fee for admission.

Festivals

Depending on the month, you may be able to experience a festival in Cincinnati. During July, Cincinnati hosts a weekend jazz festival showcasing well-known singers. If you're in the city during the Labor Day weekend, there is an end-of-summer celebration held on the riverscape that includes a fireworks display. During early fall, the city holds a festival known as Oktoberfest that draws more than 500,000.
