Southern Minnesota Bass Fishing Clubs

Southern Minnesota is known for its exceptional bass fishing and draws thousands of anglers from across the country to fish its waters. Many local anglers equally cherish the sport and have formed several clubs centered on hunting for the popular game fish. Southern Minnesota bass fishing clubs are known for their statewide tournaments, preservation efforts and youth-oriented fishing events.

Gopher Bassmasters

Minneapolis-based Gopher Bassmasters is a well-known name throughout the state. It promotes youth bass fishing events, which focus on teaching children the art of hunting for bass and preserving the species. The club hosts two tournaments per month for its members at various locations and is a member of the B.A.S.S. Federation.

TEAM BASS

TEAM BASS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping members learn about the sport of bass fishing while competing in several annual tournaments. The club was formed in 1993 after merging with the Upper Mississippi Smallmouth Club. The organization now competes in largemouth and smallmouth events, including the Minnesota State Smalllmouth Tournament held in the city of Anoka. The club also competes throughout Minnesota and in Wisconsin bass competitions.

Sportsmen Bassmasters

The Sportsmen Bassmasters club promotes a variety of youth-based events and competitive tournaments for its members, including the Points and Ponds bass competition. Based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburb of Bloomington, Sportsmen members take part in regular boat landing and other environmental cleanup projects each year. The club holds meetings at Bloomington's Dave Fong's Restaurant.

Twin Ports Bass Masters

Based in Duluth, Twin Ports Bass Masters hosts several member tournaments within a 60-mile radius of Duluth in both boater and nonboater formats. The club also organizes statewide trips and competes in largemouth and smallmouth bass competitions.

Golden Hook Bassers

Golden Hook Bassers sports a membership of approximately 20 members and competes in a variety of tournaments, several of which are member events. Based in Minneapolis, the club also sponsors several youth fishing events and is a member of the Minnesota B.A.S.S. Federation.
