The Dover International Speedway, located in Dover, Delaware, hosts two NASCAR Sprint Cup races, two NASCAR Nationwide Series races and one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. Many of the NASCAR fans who attend these events enjoy camping on the track's facility or at a nearby location. Dover International Raceway and other campgrounds near the track accommodate campers for NASCAR races.
Reserved Camping
Dover International Speedway has four lots for reserved guests only. These are Lot 2, Lot 8, Lot 9 and Lot 10. Lot 2 includes an admission charge of $130 per recreational vehicle (RV) that comes with two three-day race tickets. Lot 8 has an admission charge of $170 with no ticket packages. Lot 9 has an admission charge of $100. Included are two three-day passes. Lot 10 is the least costly of the reserved campgrounds, as it consists of an admission charge of $60, which comes with one ticket. All campgrounds at Dover International Speedway benefit from amenities such as portable bathrooms, water and trash service, and transport services.
First Come-First Served Camping
The two first come-first served campgrounds at the speedway are Lot 6 and Lot 7. These lots are for disabled visitors. Lot 6 includes an admission charge of $60, which comes with a race ticket for each of the weekend's events. Lot 7 has an admission charge of $130 that comes with one race ticket. These lots provide the same amenities as the reserved camping lots.
Things to Know
All campgrounds at Dover International Speedway come with track security that frequently monitors the facility. As with any other RV campground, the lots at the track mandate rules for all guests that must be followed to avoid ejection. You can view a list of the official rules on the Dover International Speedway website (see Reference section). All campgrounds forbid the possession of any sort of weapon or fireworks. Additionally, golf carts, ATVs and motor bikes are not allowed on the track's camping lots. Every camper must sign a "release of liability" form when arriving at the facility.
G & R Campgrounds
G & R Campgrounds, located in Houston, Delaware, is a popular campground for NASCAR campers in Dover. This particular location is not on the Dover International Speedway grounds, but it is in close proximity, roughly 25 miles from the track. G & R Campgrounds accommodates campers with RVs and tents, and it has cabins on-site. It also includes a picnic area.
Other Off-Site Campgrounds
Additional off-site campgrounds near the Dover International Speedway include the Lost Trails Campground, Pine Haven Campground, Killen Pond State Park, Holiday Park and Lake Bonnie Camp. All of these parks are within 25 miles of the track.
