Fitness Clubs in South Carolina

Joining a fitness club is a fun and easy way to get in shape. In addition to the equipment and classes you will have access to, you will also have the opportunity to meet like-minded people to work out with. South Carolina has a variety of fitness clubs with different features, so everybody will be able to find a suitable fitness club.

Lift Weights

Weight machines and free weights are the focus of many fitness centers such as Anytime Fitness or Gold's Gym, both of which have several locations throughout South Carolina. In addition, you will likely find treadmills, stationary bikes and elliptical machines to improve your cardiovascular fitness. Some fitness centers also offer a circuit of weights that you can complete for a full workout.

Personal Trainer

Many fitness centers offer personal training to members. Trainers will help you to assess your goals and develop a plan for reaching them. They will also help you to create an exercise plan and guide you through your workout so you know you are performing all exercises correctly and safely.

Take a Class

If you prefer a more social fitness environment, consider taking a fitness class at one of the clubs. For example, Gold's Gym in Myrtle Beach offers RPM, an indoor cycling workout; BodyFlow, a yoga and tai chi class; and bootcamp-style classes. The American Athletic Club, which has three locations in South Carolina, offers a number of classes including step, Pilates and Zumba.

Play Sports

Sports are a fun and social way to get in shape without falling into a rut. The Spartanburg Athletic Club offers tennis for juniors and adults. The Sportsclub, which has five locations in South Carolina, offers racquetball and tennis. The club also has a gymnasium for volleyball or basketball games.

Boxing

Many clubs, including the Spartanburg Athletic Club and the American Athletic Club, offer kickboxing fitness classes for members.
