The Los Angeles area has many bowling alleys to choose from, but only a few bowling alleys stand out from the crowd. Lucky Strike bought a bowling lane that was used in the filming of The Big Lebowski. Pinz was rated Best of LA by Los Angeles Magazine. Shatto 39 Lanes offers bowling on the cheap. AMF Mar Vista Lanes provides for a class bowling experience. Pickwick Bowl has its own professional shop.
Lucky Strike
The Big Lebowski was filmed at Hollywood Star Lanes before it was torn down. Lucky Strike, however, was able to buy Lane No. 7 from Hollywood Star Lanes and has since turned it into a bar in their Hollywood location. In addition to the Hollywood location, Lucky Strike also has a location in Los Angeles proper as well as 16 other locations throughout the United States. The Los Angeles location features eighteen lanes big enough to fit twelve people, fourteen big screens, premium 4-lane private suites, full bar and a 20-foot by 12-foot high definition projection screen. After 7 pm, the Lucky Strike is open to only those who are 21 years of age and older.
