Horizon Fitness is a popular brand of in-home fitness equipment. With over 23 current models on its website, ranging in price from $500 to $2200, Horizon offers features and price options compatible with most consumers. When using your Horizon treadmill, you may notice the speed seems to be off a little. If the actual speed of the belt doesn't match the current speed displayed on the console, you will need to auto calibrate your treadmill. The process takes about two minutes.
Step 1
Stand on the foot rails of your treadmill. Turn the unit on. Insert the safety key into the console.
Step 2
Press and hold both the elevation "+" and speed "-" buttons for five seconds. When you've entered the engineering mode, the console will beep and "ENG0" will display.
Step 3
Press the Speed "+" or "-" buttons until "ENG2" displays. Select this option by pressing and holding the "Enter" button for three seconds.
Step 4
Initiate the calibration by pressing the "Start" button. The deck will move and calibrate the speed settings automatically. Make sure you are not standing on the belt when this occurs. When the process is completed, the console will beep four times and return to the main screen.
