The Image 9.5 elliptical trainer is a compact, lightweight rear-drive model manufactured by Icon Health & Fitness, the same brand behind NordicTrack and ProForm exercise equipment. As of August 2010, the manufacturer's suggested retail price for this product is about $630.
Resistance
The Image 9.5 elliptical has push-button adjustable magnetic resistance. You can either control the resistance yourself or run one of eight preprogrammed workouts to adjust it automatically. The 9.5 also has two heart-rate control workouts, which automatically adjust the elliptical resistance to keep you within a target heart-rate zone.
Workouts
In addition to the preprogrammed workouts, the Image 9.5 is also ifit compatible. You slide an ifit workout card into the console, where it functions as an extra preprogrammed workout. You hear the personal trainer's voice prompting you through the workout as the elliptical automatically adjusts resistance for you.
Features
Icon tends to pack its machines full of features no matter what the price point, and the Image 9.5 is no exception. It has a manual-adjust incline ramp, an odometer, a built-in cooling fan, a pacing light and handgrip heart-rate monitors. it accommodates users up to 250 lbs.
