The best organic skin-care products for acne come from manufacturers with proven track records for quality, awards for brand excellence and positive consumer feedback. Lavera, Aveda and Original Cosmetics all have industry awards and positive ratings from consumers and consumer magazines. Organic products are free of chemicals, mineral oils, parabens, synthetic preservatives and artificial colors. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends gentle cleansers for acne-prone skin.

Lavera Faces Mint Products

Lavera is certified organic by the Bundesverband Deutscher Industrie und Handelsunternehmen in Germany. BDIH is a primary association of German industries and trading firms in pharmaceuticals, healthcare and personal hygiene products, and food supplements. To be certified organic, manufacturers offer their products to BDIH for testing.
Lavera Faces Mint products include cleansing gel, exfoliant face mask, toner, blemish stick and moisturizing face fluid. They are oil free and work by targeting pores to remove excessive oil and sebum production, which is a cause of acne, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. They also contain tea tree and mint oils that are antibacterial and help prevent breakouts.

Aveda Outer Peace Acne Relief

Aveda products are organically grown and manufactured. Founded in 1978, Aveda uses ingredients that are sustainable and do not harm the environment. Aveda products are available in hair salons in 24 countries.
Avenda’s Outer Peace Acne Relief line uses amala, boswellia, lemon tea tree, rose geranium, tamau, saw palmetto and salicylic acid. Salicylic acid slows the shedding of cells in hair follicles, which helps keep pores clog-free. Rose geranium is an antibacterial essential oil used to treat skin conditions, according to the National Cancer institute.
The Outer Peace Acne line includes foaming cleanser, acne-relief lotion, acne-relief pads, acne spot relief and a cooling masque.

Original Cosmetics Sea Line

Original Cosmetics is another organic company whose products are certified by the BDIH. Original Cosmetics is a Dutch company, and all of its products are allergy tested. The company's Sea Line includes acne products: Dead Sea salt, mineral face wash, mineral face cream, day and night cream, and repair cream.
The active ingredient in the acne creams is salicylic acid, lactic acid and Dead Sea salts. The ingredient list also includes plant products designed to soothe and reduce sebum production. The lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliates and helps reduce acne scarring.
